Real Simple Detail :: Sunset Wedding

Here are some lovely and touching details from this bride... I particularly love the whistling!

* My mother made her "famous" cheesecake which was the cake we cut; my cousin made the 211 cupcakes.

* Upon arrival, guests were given a small envelope with his or her name on it, inside was a question - the answer directed them to their seat. We used this as an icebreaker for the guests as many of them had not met before.

* One of my best friends/bridesmaid read Oh The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss during the ceremony! It was a touching and playful moment.

* We were married on a beach so there was no music during the ceremony; as my father walked me down the aisle he began whistling "Here Comes the Bride". It caught on among the guests and at one point everyone was whistling along with my father.

*Our favors were wind chimes that we painted with the Chinese symbol for our last name.

*We served dinner before our ceremony so that we could get married at sunset. Our favorite restaurant that is run by a close family friend catered it; the food was served family style as a nod to my husband’s Chinese heritage.

*Our cake toppers are little Sculpey statues of us that were made by my very talented friend Meghan.

I love the idea of having the Ice Breaker in the Begining for Guests who havn't met yet!

Having been there it was a beautiful ceremony, with the sunset and the water. But one of the coolest items were the windchims, I still have mine! It's not packed away but out for everyone to see and it's a lovely reminder of a great day.

What beautiful pictures! The one with them almost kissing and the sun setting in the background is just fantastic. How creative you were to use so many different aspects of both your lives...very nicely done!

this was probably one of the most picturesque, intimate and fun weddings I've attended. the place cards were a unique way to break the ice and get to know more about the couple!

This wedding looks fantastic. What a lucky man he must be to have found such a creative soul. May their days be warm and bright.

This entire day was an amazing journey starting with the food right down to the ceremony at sunset. Every moment had a special touch that is as memorable as the bride and groom.

I love the originality of every detail...even the traditional wedding march was made unique. It is refreshing to see a bride do something outside the norm for her wedding.

As the mother of the groom I loved every detail from attire to menu, invitations to decorations, and the "wedding cake" with the likeness of the bride and groom on the famous cheesecake. The best was, by far, the fact that it was the epitome of the bride and groom as only they could have brought this celebration together. The best wedding I've ever attended.

These ideas are so cool. I really like that the guests met and had family style dinner before the ceremony, makes the whole thing more comfortable and intimate.

This was the most beautiful wedding ceremony ever!!! Every detail was simply elegant, cool and creative. My favorite part was the ceremony and the reading of Dr Seus! The beach, the sunset, the windchimes...ahhhh gorgeous!

The key to the wedding was the kegs of PBR (not shown).

This was one of the nicest weddings I've been to. Guests had dinner before the ceremony - then we strolled onto the beach once the tide went out! The weather was perfect, the ceremony ended right at sunset - how romantic! Then we all went back in for dessert and cutting of the cake, and the dancing began. A fun time was had by all, this couple did it right!

Couldn't think of a better setting in which to begin a jouney of love, life and marriage. Family and friends witnessed a truly joyous day.
