Valentine's Gifts!

Just for fun I thought I would put together a list of things I'd like for Valentine's Day. I am not high maintenance. I just like pretty things. Pretty things that happen to be expensive. No pressure though.

Poppy Signature Wristlet in silver/melon/magenta from Coach; Miss Chacha in red silk by none other than Christian Louboutin; Sexy Little Things I Love You Corset courtesy of Victoria’s Secret; A big fat kiss*; My Unique Stack of Tiffany Celebration Rings from Tiffany & Co. {the Tiffany Swing Three-Row Ring, flanked by two channel set bands. Yay!}; Dark Chocolate Lace Heart Box from LadureĆ© {I would wish it be filled with their signature macarons please! For the flavours I would choose... chocolate, bitter chocolate, vanilla, coffee, pistachio, raspberry, another raspberry, caramel with salted butter, red fruits, coconut, mint, praline, chocolate with cherry, chocolate with passionfruit, blueberry, another chocolate. And another raspberry. I really, really loved the raspberry!}

*I know that this is a chick kiss but a guy’s kiss doesn’t make as pretty a picture. No offense.

I love you SexyHusband! Thank you for being my everyday Valentine. And... don't worry if you don't buy me one of these gifts for Valentine's Day, my birthday is right around the corner.

Custom Comics

I'm a fan of anything interesting, original, and personal, and even more so if I can incorporate it into a wedding, so when I saw these custom comic strips from Mark Weber on Elsewares all I could think about was how to use this for a wedding! Your proposal story as a comic would make a great save-the-date. Or, if you know a couple well enough you could have their story told in a comic and give it to them as a wedding gift! The possibilities are endless! Neat!

Get Around to Gift Giving

One of the biggest challenges in planning your wedding is finding just the right gift for the ones you love. You want to buy a gift that is both meaningful and perfect for that person. I thought this was just lovely.

I think my Mom would have treasured this. They also have 'grandma' and 'nana'.

Gifts for the Groomsmen

One of the questions I hear the most is about gifts for attendants. I usually suggest a brainstorming session to come up with something that is fitting for each of their tastes. But, when you just can't come up with something specific, you can always buy something classic or interesting!

How about these chrome goodies I found on Canoe ::

Figment

Meet Kristine. Kristine Baerlin of Figment. Remember the name. Kristine Baerlin is a talented portrait painter based out of Brooklyn, NY and her paintings are fresh and contemporary and entirely extraordinary.

Her hand-painted portraits of adults and children are a contemporary approach to the pop art tradition, each carefully planned with her clients to best reflect their individual style and taste. Working together, they swap color ideas, decide on a size and determine the best photograph from which to work.

Recently she has done a few bridal and wedding portraits and has loved the endeavour.

Ribbon Wands

Close your eyes and remember back to when you were a little girl. You were dressed in one of your prettiest dresses; you looked down and noticed a wink of sunlight dancing on your new patent leather Mary-Janes. There was a slight breath of a breeze, the air smelled like sweet peas and you were twirling and twirling until you fell to the grass, giddy and giggly.

Do you remember that frolicsome and frivolous, precocious and pure, sweet and simple fun? That is what these ribbon wands remind me of.

What a wonderful gift for a little girl you know. Perhaps you have a flower girl or two you need the perfect gift for. Perhaps you need one for yourself, or the little girl in you.

The Ribbon Wand Shop is the creation of Nikki Workman. You can check out her shop on Etsy or visit her blog. She took a little break over the summer but her shop re-opened September 1st. Stay tuned for new and fabulous designs!
