Peep Toe Glamour

I absolutely love it when a bride kicks aside the average, yanks up her dress and slides on some fabulous shoes; shoes that are bold or flirty, fancy or girly. I wanted shoes that I could wear after my wedding day – what on earth was I going to do with “almost” white satin shoes? So I wore a pair of Nine West shoes, they were lacy and a splendid pink and tied around the ankle. They were beautiful, comfortable and I felt sweet and sexy just wearing them. I daresay they were a favourite part of my entire wedding ensemble. And, I’ve worn them countless times since, on our honeymoon, out to dinner; I’ve even worn them with some fabulous dark jeans for a night out with the girls.

My InStyle Favourite Things

The Fall InStyle Weddings Magazine has arrived! Alright, I know this isn't breaking news as it arrives a little later in Canada but I’m elated nonetheless. I love new wedding magazines; they’re always filled with a sumptuous glimpse into the upcoming season, presenting us with new sparklies, swishy fabrics and nifty gifties.

I was going to write one entry about all my favourite things from the current issue but it would be inanely long so, I thought I’d devote a post to each. I’m just crazy like that.

Club Wedd Couples

I just adore these couples. I wish I could draw. Or paint.

And, just so you know, we're the first couple. My husband and I. I swear that's a snapshot of our kitchen. But I'm not that tall. Or that slim. But I have hair that dark and I love her shoes. I'm positive that Andy has that exact outfit. And that's the colour of his hair. And he is that tall. And my Kitchenaid is white. But, it really is us. Which one are you? Aqua Pumps with a Kitten Heel

This morning, on my way to work, I spotted a woman wearing the cutest aqua coloured shoes. I was so distracted I blew right through a red light. "I'm sorry officer. But, did you see her shoes?!?" So, completely distracted, I decided to fulfil my craving and share with you.

Un-Cookie Cutter

The thing I love most about this wedding is how it emphasizes the personalities of the bride and groom. No one wants their wedding to be the same as everyone else’s but this couple seems to have embraced their zest for life and captured it on their wedding day. There is a delicate yellow and bird theme but it only highlights the couple.

I find that so many couples pick their theme and the entire wedding is saturated with Eiffel Towers for their “French Provincial Wedding”, or grapes, cork and ivy for their “Vintage Wine Wedding”. Or the couple choose one colour to decorate their day and every thing that could possibly be aqua is aqua; from the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s ties, to the centrepieces to the tongues of the bride and groom who have just enjoyed their cake covered in aqua fondant.

I think the most important theme to choose is the personalities and relationship of the bride and groom. Then add in subtle touches that are uniquely you.
