Amy Atlas Dessert Table

A little while ago Amy Atlas of Amy Atlas Events contacted me to let me know she had added a link to my blog from hers. Eeeep! I was so flattered with the lovely surprise! So thank you Amy! I’ve returned the favour.

In case you don’t know, the incomparable Amy Atlas is an event planner from New York City that specializes in candy and dessert tables. I did a feature on Amy back in October which you can revisit here :: Her Mod, Candy Shop, Birthday, and Bridal Brunch dessert tables. ~sigh~

I visited Amy’s website yesterday and noticed she added some photos to her gallery and naturally I couldn’t resist posting them! This table was created for Claudia Hanlin’s The Wedding Library.

The Bridal Guide by Darcy Miller + Me!

I am a hard girl to surprise. I've had three surprise birthday parties in my life; I knew about two and was slightly suspicious of the third. However, yesterday, I was browsing through my stat counter and I noticed some referrals from a site that I love and hold in the highest esteem - Darcy Miller's blog The Bridal Guide!

I was beyond surprised when I clicked through and found that she listed my little blog as suggested reading for wedding blogs! This was posted last Tuesday, the 16th of September. I'm fifth on the list...

Elizabeth Anne Designs Library Launch

Rebekah and Ami, the brilliant twosome that are the creators of Elizabeth Anne Designs, are incredibly excited to announce their newest project, the EAD Library. After months of development and research, they are launching a new resource for brides today! Their library is filled with hundreds of useful links, from photographers to shops to stationers. Their goal is to compile a simple, comprehensive list of vendors that will help every bride, no matter her location, find the vendors and inspiration she needs for a beautiful event.

Blushing :: With Thanks

Today is the one-year anniversary of the Blush.alicious blog. I started this blog on a whim. I started it for me. I needed a creative outlet. I needed to do something with idle hands, idle ideas, idle imaginings. Never, never, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have found such success! By ‘success’ I mean visitors… repeat visitors… fans of this blog. I thought that most of my hits would come from a few friends and my husband maybe. But thanks to all of you, Blush.alicious has taken on a life of it’s own. It’s a place I love and I’m glad you love it too.

So, thank you! Thank you for visiting, thank you for bookmarking, thank you for linking, thank you for subscribing, thanks for recommending, and thanks for coming back time and time again.

This last year has been so exciting and full of change - there can only be more. Someone once said that the only constant you can count on is change (or something like that) and I will tribute that statement. I'm hoping to make some changes to Blush in the next little while, format and content and such, so please bare with me.

Today is a good day -- I made a new friend. Nicole Polk emailed me to let me know that she has a new bridal blog, a polk a dot bride. Her blog has the cool twist and perspective of a photographer turned bride.

And, because I so enjoyed going through her work, I just had to share this composition of photographs I lifted from her Photography Blog and Website. How could I not share the pretty?



Just imagine what her wedding will look like after all she's seen.

Nearly Wed

Considering that I am absolutely addicted to wedding magazines I am eagerly awaiting the release of the first Real Simple Weddings issue. I know that you can pick them up in-store or online from Crate & Barrel but we don’t have one in our city as of yet (apparently coming soon!)

In trying to find out some more information on the release of the magazine I went on their website and then found my way to the Nearly Wed blog, authored by Margrit, an editor for RealSimple.com.

I was absolutely delighted and surprised to find Blushalicious listed as one of her favourite sites!

I was at Michaels yesterday, perusing Martha's Halloween Craft treats when I wondered if she has anything coming out for the Christmas season. So I popped on over to her site to see.

Farewell to Faye & Greer

Part of my morning ritual is to wander through some of my favourite wedding blogs, one very near the top of the list is Faye & Greer, a mother and daughter team planning a wedding whilst living long-distance. I was shocked and saddened to read yesterday’s entry – they’re bidding adieu to their blog.

desire to inspire

I love this. I love the wooden initials. I love what it means. I really love the trunk. And the jars. I don't know what's in the jars but I love that too. I love the butterfly, which is particularly odd because I don't normally love butterflies. Not that there is anything wrong with butterflies. I love the colours; I love the light. And I especially love the message, "Inspiration lingers around every corner".

This is how I work. Inspiration will just jump out and announce itself to me, whether it's in a song, or an advertisement, or a picture. I'm pretty sure I could design an entire function around this little picture.

I found the image on a design blog called desire to inspire. It's a wonderful place, you should go. Go now.
