My 8 Year Old Self + Ms. Vera Wang
I love Vera Wang. Who doesn't really? But, today, I love her a bit more. That's because she's not only made me happy, but she's made the little girl inside me skip a little step and twirl my skirt!
You see, when I was young, the biggest passion in my life was playing Barbies with my sister. Hours and hours and hours of my childhood were devoted to adoring my Barbie dolls. (See proof of my early passion here.)
And now, the impeccable and revered Vera Wang has designed a special edition Barbie doll bride - The Romanticist Barbie. The 'doll captures the luxury, impeccable detailing, and superior workmanship that define Vera Wang.' ~Sigh~
She even has an engagement ring!

I wish I could see her shoes...
Um... honey? SexyHusband? My birthday is right around the corner...

Brides on Lifetime
You may already know about the Brides magazine Something Pink initiative, where the publication asked 21 designers to create custom gowns in a rose-colored theme, with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
What you may not know, is that one of these sumptuous gowns hit Hollywood! The gown by Anjolique made an appearance in the Renée Zellweger-produced Lifetime Original Movie Living Proof, about a UCLA doctor who pioneered the development of a breast cancer drug treatment in the late eighties. The film premiered on October 18th.
The Something Pink dresses by such designers as Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier, and Carolina Herrera, were photographed for the November/December issue of BRIDES, which was on newsstands October 14. The gowns went on sale mid-October nationwide and for those brides with more traditional tastes, sales of the ivory and white versions will benefit BCRF as well.

His designs are delicate, graceful, and perfectly stylish. They are feminine and are exactly what dreams are made of. Remember, in my earlier post, I said the dresses were dreamy? See for yourself ::

Pronovias 2009 Preview Collection 2009
Our next installment is a little glimpse at the 2009 Pronovias Fiesta Preview Collection which is their special occasion line. The website says "The new Pronovias Collection is a real party". Love! These dresses would make dynamite bridesmaid dresses, or, depending on the bride, a fantastic cocktail dress to change into later in the evening.

Romona Keveza Legends Collection
Timeless. Beautiful. Bridal.

I was browsing through the Romona Keveza Legends Collection and found myself just captivated by her work on this collection. It's so lovely, as is the styling. I just love how the models look like real brides, with the veils and bouquets, nothing too dramatic, just pretty and classic. I also like that there is a bit of curve to their figures.

Swarovski Hair Jewellery
There is nothing like your wedding day to adorn yourself in crystals and shine; how many times in your life will you don a tiara? The clips, brooches, pins and headbands will also do just fine. All of the pieces are Swarovski.

Reverie by Melissa Sweet - Spring 2009
I really like the long lean lines of the new Reverie Collection by Melissa Sweet for Priscilla of Boston. Apparently available in stores August 2008.
Is that pockets I see on the first dress? I love pockets!

Reem Acra Bridal Collection Fall 2008
When my sister and I were little girls we would sit with the Sears catalogue splayed out on our laps and play a game. You had to choose one thing from each page that you would want; whether they were horrific girdles or the cutest shoes. I’m not sure what was more difficult, choosing the prettiest of the awful or carefully deliberating which of the lovely you would choose.
Should I have to choose one dress from the Reem Acra Fall 2008 Bridal Collection it would be painstakingly dreadful, but, if I have to… I’d choose the third one in the first row.

You?

Monique Lhuillier Bridal Collection Autumn 2008
It feels like a pretty, dressy, kind of day.
These dresses are from the enviable and gifted designer, Monique Lhuillier but these pictures are from Brides Magazine Co UK.

Leave a comment telling me which dress is your favourite and I'll use it as inspiration for a wedding board. Just for fun.

To Veil or Not to Veil
A reader, Serena, emailed and asked my opinion on veils – to wear or not to wear?
I like the idea of a bride wearing a veil as there are not many days in one’s life that one can wear a veil and, in my opinion, they epitomize the bridal ensemble.
Of course, the best part about wearing a veil is having the option to take it off, so, at the very least, give yourself the choice.
Not one to post without photos, here are eight reasons to wear a veil. At least for a little while.

3 Alan Maudie, Elizabeth Messina
Thanks for your question Serena, I hope this helps! Should anyone else have any questions or requests please feel free!

Peep Toe Glamour
{InStyle Weddings Fall 2007 Page 132}
I absolutely love it when a bride kicks aside the average, yanks up her dress and slides on some fabulous shoes; shoes that are bold or flirty, fancy or girly. I wanted shoes that I could wear after my wedding day – what on earth was I going to do with “almost” white satin shoes? So I wore a pair of Nine West shoes, they were lacy and a splendid pink and tied around the ankle. They were beautiful, comfortable and I felt sweet and sexy just wearing them. I daresay they were a favourite part of my entire wedding ensemble. And, I’ve worn them countless times since, on our honeymoon, out to dinner; I’ve even worn them with some fabulous dark jeans for a night out with the girls.
If you have a little sweet and sexy in you, have a look at these sparkly peep toe wonders from justsweet.com. They’re called “Nicola” and well, no wonder I love them, the colour is called “Blush”.
